Theatr Iolo present Baby, Bird & Bee | Created by Sarah Argent and Kevin Lewis
Come and sit with your baby whilst the new gardener playfully goes about their work, planting and watering, in the beautiful garden. As they work, they are delighted to be joined by a bird, a bee, and of course, the babies! Together you will discover the sights and sounds of the garden, as your little one delights in the wonders around them.
At the end of the show, there will be a chance for you and your baby to stay and play with some specially chosen objects.

Frequently Asked Questions:
Can I bring a younger / older baby or sibling?
This show is suitable for babies aged 6-18 months only. This is because very young babies are too little to enjoy the performances, whilst older children can distract the babies. For this reason, and so that everyone can fully enjoy the performances, there is an age restriction on these performances. This also means that older children (including siblings) will not be admitted to these performances. We hope that this also creates a special moment that you can share with just your baby/babies.
What makes this baby show special?
Sarah Argent and Kevin Lewis have many years of experience creating baby shows together. They are world renowned for their special ability to create gentle, engaging shows for the very young. They have worked with scientists to discover what makes babies laugh and have developed special techniques to ensure that little ones stay engaged with the performance!
Why does the show only last 20-25 minutes?
Sarah and Kevin have tested many performance lengths over the years and this is the perfect length for this age group. Baby’s brains are still doing lots of learning and growing and they often need a rest or sleep after a sensory experience like Baby, Bird & Bee. There will also be an opportunity to stay and play with the other families in the space following the show.
What’s the seating like?
We know babies of this age like lots of opportunities to wriggle, stretch, feed and crawl. For this reason, babies (and their adults!) are seated on large mats of the floor so they have plenty of room to wriggle. We also keep audience numbers for our baby shows low, so that it doesn’t become overwhelming, and everyone has plenty of space.
I’m worried about how my baby will respond!
We encourage the babies to respond however they like – gurgling, laughing, commenting (if they’ve started talking!), or hiccupping! If your baby does get unsettled by this new experience, we often find that by you simply standing up and moving slightly further away, they are soon relaxed enough to stay watching the performance. If your baby gets really upset, then you can always take them away from the audience space for a feed or a cuddle and come back in as soon as they’re ready.
