Twin Town 25th Anniversary Screening (18): With Director Q&A

Director Kevin Allen is touring Wales in 2024 on the 25th Anniversary of groundbreaking Bafta Nominated ‘Welsh cult classic’ Twin Town, which stars Rhys Ifans.

This special event includes a film screening in our main hall and a one-off chance to speak directly with Director Kevin Allen in a post-screening Q&A – the bar will also be open.

So, come down to The Welfare Ystradgynlais for a special nostalgic cinema event and a chance to learn something new about the classic Welsh film.

FILM SYNOPSIS:
Bryn Cartwright (William Thomas) a wealthy roofing contractor, rugby club chairman and local kingpin rules the roost until Fatty Lewis (Huw Ceredig) a local handyman falls off a ladder on a Cartwright job. Fatty’s twin junkie grandsons, Julian (Llyr Ifans) and Jeremy (Rhys Ifans) who are not in fact twins –attempt to procure compensation from Cartwright, who refuses to pay up. The doped-up Julian and Jeremy then inflict anarchy not only on Cartwright and his family but on anyone they encounter whilst Terry (Dougray Scott) and Greyo (Dorian Thomas), two local policemen employ their own dubious peacekeeping methods as events spiral out of control.
