¡No Pasarán!

The Spanish Civil War broke out 90 years ago this year. Hundreds of Welsh volunteers joined in the fight against Franco and fascism. Some, like Frank Zamorra of Abercraf and Jim Strangward from Onllwyn, never came back.

We remember the struggle against fascism with words and music from that terrible time in this informal event in our Function Room.

Featuring musicians Caws a Bara (Tracy Hales, Geraint Roberts and Ian ‘Titch’ Thomas), and readings from the works of Lorca, Orwell and others.

Tickets for many of our live shows and live broadcasts are on a pay what you choose basis, which means you can choose the price that best suits your pocket. The lower ticket levels are subsidised, the top price puts a little extra into The Welfare, helping to fund our community activities.
