During the 1984-85 Miner’s Strike, our auditorium was used by volunteers of the Ystradgynlais Miner’s Support Group as a food parcel distribution centre for local families, with a Christmas party for their children held that December. During that time, they also set up a weekly Tea Bar to raise much needed funds.
After the strike ended, those volunteers became our wonderful ‘Friends of the Hall‘, and have continued to run the Tea Bar almost every Friday since. That is, until Covid forced us to close.
We are so pleased to announce that after a two year hiatus, our Tea Bar has now re-commenced, and we serve delicious freshly filled rolls, cakes and hot drinks.
We can’t wait to see all of your familiar faces, and we welcome new faces too.
