National Dance Company Wales: Discover Dance

Dance is one of the five disciplines of the Expressive Arts. National Dance Company Wales’ Discover Dance is an interactive dance experience for schools designed to engage, motivate and encourage learners to develop their creative, artistic and performance skills.

This hour-long fun and relaxed show gives learners in years 3-6 the chance to meet professional dancers, learn what they do all day, ask them questions and even learn some moves too.

Learners watch our professionals in action as they dance to a beatboxing soundtrack and celebrate the awesome power of dance and music on stage. The energy is off the charts, and the dancers have a blast which is great fun to watch and to get involved in.

“The entire group were enthralled by the … the openness of the dancers and their ability to encourage the children into the ‘secret’ world of dance”. – Teacher

Discover Dance is an inspirational and enriching experience leaving curious learners feeling more confident more confident engaging in Dance as an art form.

Teachers attending Discover Dance will have access to NDCWales learning resources that support the new expressive arts curriculum and the chance to book workshops.

Make sure you check out the Arts Council of Wales’ Go & See grant which can provide funding for tickets and travel to high-quality arts events such as Discover Dance. We are able to help you with your ‘Go and See’ application if you need it.
