Ystradgynlais Town Council represents the communities of Ystradgynlais, Abercrave, Cwmtwrch and Penrhros in the county of Powys.
The Town Council hold an office at The Welfare. If you need to get in touch with the Town Council contact details are provided on the Powys County Council website
Banking Hub
Ystradgynlais Banking Hub is open in its temporary home at The Welfare.
The banking hub is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.
At the banking hub you can:
- Withdraw cash
- Deposit cash and cheques
- Pay utility bills
- Access other cash services (for registered businesses)
- Talk to a community banker
The banking hub is not a Post Office: you cannot send parcels or buy stamps.

Knitting Nannas
The talented Knitting Nannas of Ystradgynlais, many of whom are also Blodau volunteers, spread smiles and cheer as they decorate the town’s bollards for every occasion. They have even appeared on BBC News and BBC’s Countryfile to explain what they do, and you can see their most up-to-date creations over on Blodau Ystradgynlais’ Facebook page.
